During the six-month Blue Dot mission, German astronaut Alexander Gerst took more than 12,500 high-definition images that have been handled with perfection by ESA to achieve this wonderful timelapse. You can admire everything that the orbit has to offer: the Earth, the Northern lights, the city lights and even the Milky Way.
