Did you know that Yiwu is the largest manufacturing center in the world for seasonal commodities? This is where our popular garlands, fake trees and Christmas hats are mass-produced by a cheap labor for whom the very notion of Christmas is probably limited to the assembly line onto which they are affected.

Filmmaker Toby Smith, with the help of Unknown Fields Division, explored the supply chain that provides Western markets with mass-consumption ornaments along the commercial route of the South China Sea. With the Cantonese version of "Jingle Bells" as background music, the short film allows you to reflect on the excesses of globalization.
