Mimo Khair was born in Kousba, Lebanon, but she discovered her passion for photography when she was living in New York City in the sixties. After her first trip to Egypt, she became firmly attached to the power of human emotion and the bond which lies in every individual across the planet.

She describes her motivation as followed:

Life as we live it today is filled with barriers that separate us, but when I'm in the street with my camera, I can connect to another person, and that for me is when the magic happens.

From the streets of Shanghai to remote villages of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Lebanese photographer has even been on humanitirian missions with the UN corps, where she witnessed striking moments of truthful expression. Her pictures reflect the nature of humans in its most sincere form.
